Assamese literature in the virtual world

It has been quite some time now, since the world moved on from the physical pages to the digital pages. Reading e-books has become common practice now and digital media readers such as iPad and other tablets have become common place. It is now heartening to know that Assamese literature has found its way in to this virtual world. Age old Assamese literature is slowly moving from the traditional pen and paper to the computer keyboard and monitor.
A few of the websites which is leading this quest for the presence of Assamese Literature in the digital world are Bipuljyoti.in, enajori.com, xahityo.org, xobdo.org, Asomiya Wikipedia and spondonsph.com. Also the Unicode conversion of Sankardev’s Kirtan Puthi (by Pratim Pratap Baruah), Parijat Haran, Kalia Daman, Prahlad Charitra, Rajani Kanta Bordoloi’s Mir Jyoti (all by Nitul Borah) and Sri Lakshmi Devir Charitra Aru Panchali (by Dhanjit Kumar Sharma) are worth its bytes in gold. These are now available free of cost through the website xahityo.org.
Suddenly the e-World has become all the more interesting for those Assamese enthusiasts keen on Assamese Literature.

Historical, Vintage and Classic Cars Museum Kuwait

By - PARIMITA BAROOAH BORA
If classic cars predominate, it is probably because, like great art, it takes time for a design to escape the influence of fashion and be fairly judged on its own merits; it also explains why many modern cars take older models as their inspiration.I visited the Vintage Car Museum in Amman, during our visit to Jordan. Kuwait too has a beautiful and rich Historical and Vintage Car Museum. The idea of the museum is to show the world the history of Kuwait and to connect the past with the present and the future....

The RED FORT of Kuwait

RED FORT OR RED PALACE OF KUWAIT
By - PARIMITA BAROOAH BORA
While some call it Red Palace, others call it Red Fort. The locals call it Qasr Al Ahmar. But the very name reminds us of our very own Red Fort at Delhi.
Located near the highway, the Qasr al Ahmar or Red Palace lies about 32 kilometres west of Kuwait City. It was built around 1895, under orders from Amir Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, better known today as Mubarak Al-Kabir......READ THE FULL STORY
